I read a fair amount of science fiction, and was pleasantly surprised to come across this collection. It's always interesting to watch authors develop and mature, and this is someone I will definitely keep an eye out for future material.He's got some great ideas, and I'm interested to see what he could do in a longer format.
The stories themselves are well thought out, a promising first entry. They've got a dark, somewhat unhappy, tone to them, which resonates rather well with me.
They're fun, short, and well worth $3.

I am not a sci-fi person, but I could not put this down. Each story is ever-so-slightly troubling and really well written. I'm excited to see what he writes next.
The only thing I disliked about these short stories was that they were short. I truly hope that Carl has a novel in the works, because I hated to see each story end. Carl's writing style is intelligent, gripping, and fast paced. I would highly recommed this collection to anyone interested in sci-fi for a quick and interesting read. Well worth the $3 for a night of entertainment. Keep up the good work Carl.
